Kelly called, wanted to help us save money as the credit card processing fees are going to increase. Asked us to send the latest merchant billing statement via fax and when received, she will call us with a code. I called our processing company and they have no record of trying to contact us and that there is no fee increase.

I had a lady call our office today (07/21/25) saying, "This is Julie, account's manager with billing and compliance with Merchant Direct regarding your processing account, ____________. There is a billing issue from October, overbilling due to an invalid rate increase with Visa/Mastercard not meant for your platform which is small/medium. It was meant for Corporate platform increase. Please call 855-869-3905 Ext 429. I looked up the number to see that it is a SCAM after checking our statements and not finding an increase. BEWARE!

Lady called saying she was from merchant services and wanted me to get our April statement out because there was an increase in our credit card fees. I asked who she was working for and she replied Merchant Account Services with Visa. She then went on to say that our processing fees were at 4.2%, but were supposed to be at 2% and needed me to email her a copy of the last statement to [email protected] with a subject line of "Bill Dispute." I placed her on hold and then proceeded to call the number on the merchant statement, who said this was not a legitimate issue or phone call. When I switched back to the lady and told her I had called my merchant, she promptly hung up before I could tell her to quit trying to scam people. Definitely be aware of this scam!

Received message from Diana of merchant support wanting to go over fee increases effective as of last month. Her return phone number left was 1(855) 869-3905 x 402. I believe this to be a scam as I have received a call before from a "merchant support" company who could not tell me the name of my "merchant support."

I got a voice mail, was urgent according to the man calling from Optix ? Said he was doing compliance for my Square account and it was urgent I call him back as my account was red flagged as a billionaire and is concerned about my processing fees

I received a call twice today from this number wanting to "review my merchant services" account since I had been flagged "for better rates". They couldn't even get my merchant services provider right. I later looked them up and found that all they do is make calls all day to scam for money. Don't give them the time of day and block their number if you can.

Woman called and claimed we were overpaying for our credit card processing and she wanted to walk me through my statement to help me recover my overpayment. I asked who she worked for and she said Merchant Services was her employer. I told her I would check this out and call her back. I googled the number and saw that this is a scam.

A woman identified herself as representing a company called " Optics ", she said that my rates for processing master card charges had been increased from 1.005% to 1.009% and that increase was due for lowering via a rate increase compliance for the month of October going forward to December 2023. She said she worked for our credit card company, and called them to get access to our records impersonating our owner.

She then asked me to relate to her every single master card charge i had processed since October of 2023through to December 2023. I told her i was not in the office at the time her call came in and that i would call her back after the week-end. I did not do that instead i called the company that processes all my C/C sales. They told me that nobody has access to my shop sales information except the company that processes each transaction. So the call from Optics was a scam.

It was a woman who left a message claiming to be from Merchant Services. She stated that we had been overcharged fees and we needed to call her back. We called the number back and got an Optical place twice. When we hit redial it went to the person we were suppossed to call from Merchant Services. We had googled the phone number and saw that it was listed as a scam, The lady went through the spiel on how we have been overcharged and they want to credit us. We told her just credit our account. Suprise they couldn't do that without going throught all of our information. That is when we informed her that we knew it was a scam and hung up her. DO NOT GIVE THEM ANY INFORMATION.

Once confronted about her intentions to sell us something by deceiving us she went and gave us a phone number to contact our merchant company and hung up. Beware!
