I contacted LifeLine customer service (1.800.449.2389 select #2) and got the answer to "was this a scam call?" The answer was NO! This call is from LifeLine asking the disadvantaged elderly if they would like an annual "wellness check" (paid for by Medicare once a year) to see if they need updated or new means of assistance. The reason they call is to make sure if you requested a "wellness check" from LifeLine that you did not already have one with your physician (paid for by Medicare). The reason being Medicare will only pay for one a year and LifeLine wants to make sure you do not pay for your wellness check twice. This is not the annual Medicare check you might think. The lady was very cordial and pleasant to speak with. Hope this is helpful.
