Threatening phone calls for litigation on debt that cannot legally be collected and is not on behalf of the original debtor. This debt was from 2008, was written off, and tax was paid on the income. The original debtor offered me new credit years ago. They cannot file litigation, it is an empty threat, along with "we are taking all your stuff" are you in jail and other derogatory threatening and bullying remarks to coerce you into paying for something no longer owed. They collect everything for themselves, and this has nothing to do with the original debt. Somehow, these scum bags think they are in the right. They are not. These should be considered illegal transactions for buying debt that is no longer owned and not enforceable by law. I think when they see a person has a good credit score and pays without fail, they salivate at the bits to harass and scare them into paying them money NOT OWED!! The persistence of years after the debt was settled and the statute of limitations expired is ludicrous. At one point, four of these loser collector agencies were all calling with litigation threats for that one resolved debt from years ago. The threats have to stop.
